
Donald Trump recently hosted a roundtable on crime and public safety in Tennessee, which involved officials lavishing praise on the president. One particular moment is making the rounds on social media as an example of Republican sycophantism.
The clip first shows Trump advisor Stephen Miller lavishing praise on the president for “saving tens of thousands of American lives” through his public safety and border security policies.

Trump ate it up, turning to FBI Director Kash Patel and declaring, “See if you can top that.”

And Patel certainly tried. “I’m living the wildest dream you could possibly imagine, sir. But it’s thanks to you,” Patel declared. He said Trump is inspiring American children to become law enforcement officers and “safeguard our men and women for generations to come.”

It is going to go on for generations to come… because America was smart enough to elect you as our commander-in-chief… Just know, Mr. President, how many millions of dreams like mine are going to be lived thanks to your brilliant leadership.”
