There’s nothing superficial about fashion. After all, clothes are a big part of how we present ourselves to the world, construct our identity and express who we are and what we believe. That’s probably why LGBTQ+ people have always been at the forefront of style—and it’s exactly why the Worcester, Massachusetts–based nonprofit Love Your Labels teaches fashion design to queer youth: to help them on their journey of self-discovery.
Celebrate the organization and take in some bold fashions (and even bolder models) at Queer AF, Love Your Labels’ annual show, which drew over 750 guests last year and has been dubbed the “Queer Met Gala of Massachusetts.”
This year’s theme is “Ethereal Beings,” and designers will “use the language of fashion and elements of light, reflection and color to build a joyous new reality.”
Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, September 5, at Mechanics Hall in Downtown Worcester, Massachusetts.
