Lesbian Rep. Becca Balint (D-VT) posted an infamous “babyface meme” mocking Vice President JD Vance for a recent report showing the presidential administration’s lagging jobs numbers.
Balint’s post, published Wednesday, showed the JD Vance babyface meme, a mocking distortion of the vice president’s face with exaggerated baby features to his face, such as large cheeks. The meme is meant to depict Vance as an immature, inexperienced, and somewhat freakish man-baby.

In the post’s caption, Balint wrote, “DiD yOu eVeN SaY tHaNk YoU?” The use of alternating capital letters is commonly used on social media to sarcastically imitate someone. In this case, Balint was mocking Vance’s infamous February question to Ukraine’s war-battered President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Vance asked Zelenskyy if he had once thanked the U.S. for its billions in aid to fight off Russia’s continued invasion.
Balint posted her mocking meme and comment in response to recent reports that the United States now has more unemployed people than job openings for the first time since April 2021. Numerous media outlets, including the political publication The Hill, have reported the fact.
