Last Week Tonight Host John Oliver slammed the companies involved in the decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC late-night show off the air.

In an egregious violation of free speech, both the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and major ABC affiliate groups Sinclair and Nexstar confirmed last Wednesday that Kimmel has been suspended indefinitely after mocking the president and MAGA’s reaction to Charlie Kirk’s death.

Oliver blasted the “clear case of the government pressuring companies to censor speech” and said history would “remember the cowards who definitely knew better but still let things happen.”

At the end of the segment, Oliver spoke directly to Disney CEO Bob Iger, as the Walt Disney Company owns ABC.

“If we have learned nothing else from this administration’s second term so far, and I don’t think we have, it is that giving the bully your lunch money doesn’t make him go away. It just makes him come back hungrier each time.”

He concluded, “The only phrase that can genuinely make a weak bully go away… is ‘F**k you! Make me!’”
