The new Dave Franco horror movie just got scarier.

Censors in China altered a scene in the film to turn a gay couple straight, erasing any reference to LGBTQ+ identity in the movie, according to reporting from Bloomberg.

They did it using AI, marking a new, high-tech frontier in censorship in the authoritarian state.

In Together, an Australian thriller starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie, the gay couple in the horror flick was digitally altered into a heterosexual one for its release in mainland China, with one of the men in a same-sex relationship replaced by a woman in the minute-long scene they were featured in.
