A clip of the icon that is RuPaul Andre Charles laughing in a fan’s face has fans howling with laughter.
The creator and host of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and the world’s first drag artist to be recognised with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is the most famous drag queen in the world, so it’s no surprise he was spotted at an airport.
In a video posted to X on Wednesday (7 January), a fan spotted RuPaul out of drag and seized their chance to speak with the icon.
The fan asked: “RuPaul, I loved the Cover Girl music video – it was amazing. I grew up with that. Any chance you’ll do another music video in the future?”
RuPaul’s music video for “Cover Girl (Put The Bass In Your Walk)” was released 16 years ago and was the first single from RuPaul’s Champion album.
In response to the fan’s question, RuPaul, who has released countless songs since, points and looks directly at the fan while laughing in a way only he can.
“What do you think about MTV not having music videos anymore? MTV’s over? Alright, take care, RuPaul,” the fan continues as RuPaul sashays away.

MTV hasn’t ended, however, Paramount did decide to shutdown a suite of supplemental music-only channels – MTV Music, MTV ’80s, MTV ’90s, MTV Live, and Club MTV— in the UK and Australia. MTV still remains on the air worldwide.
Fans can’t get enough of the clip, which someone captioned: “Obsessed with this video of RuPaul just laughing in someone’s face and then ignoring him lmaooo.”
“Lmaooo why would she chuckle like that,” one fan responded to the clip.
Another comment, with more than 300 likes, read: “Ru makes music videos like it’s Instagram posts lmao what is that question.”
“RuPaul does this thing whenever he’s on stage or have an audience in front of him of pointing at someone random and just laughing and it works every time,” another fan commented.
“He said girl bye with the foolish questions lmaoooo,” someone else joked.
“Because she’s done like a million music videos since cover girl,” another fan pointed out.
RuPaul has released 16 studio albums, the most recent of which is 2023’s Black Butta. The drag icon has 43 music videos, with the most recent, “Smile”, debuting in 2022.
