Kellyanne Conway tells Rosie O’Donnell, a lesbian, to ‘find a husband’
January 02 2026, 08:15

Former Donald Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway suggested critics of the MAGA president, including lesbian comic Rosie O’Donnell, need “a hug or a husband or a dog” to get over their so-called ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’.

Conway, a cohost on Fox News’ The Five, made the comments in reference to a TikTok video posted by O’Donnell about the Republican leader in which she said Trump should be removed from office via the 25th Amendment and dubbed him a “blob”.

“We gotta do it soon, before the November elections,” O’Donnell said in the lengthy video. “Because you know he’s going to do anything he can to start a war and then declare no elections because of that war. He needs to be stopped.”

O’Donnell has long been a vocal critic of Trump and in March shared that she is no longer living in the US due to the political upheavals in the country, having moved to Ireland in January just days before Trump’s inauguration.

“Don’t you have anybody who loves you?” Conway asked of O’Donnell in response to the video, as quoted by The Advocate.

“You need a hug or a husband or a hobby or a dog,” the host went on to say. “Get yourself some help.”

Conway seemed not to know, or perhaps care, that O’Donnell is an open lesbian who has been married to two women.

O’Donnell came out as a lesbian in 2002, announcing during an Ovarian Cancer Research benefit: “I’m a dyke! … I don’t know why people make such a big deal about the gay thing. … People are confused, they’re shocked, like this is a big revelation to somebody.”

Conway went on during the Fox News segment to describe the comic as “a slob calling someone else a blob” and alleged she is suffering with “Trump Derangement Syndrome” – a term that is being increasingly used by conservatives to describe criticism of the president as illogical.

“By the way, she moved to Ireland, but she never moved on. And that’s the problem,” Conway said. “It’s toxic, chaotic, and sometimes frightening.

“But I’ll tell you, a lot of Democrats don’t like it. They feel like they’re gonna get beat in 2028 if their only message is ‘Trump, Trump, Trump.'”
