Deranged MAGA pundit tells Trump to “purge” gay “perverts” from the Republican Party

Author Cliff Kincaid has become the latest right-wing bigot to blame homosexuality for the murder of MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk. But in a column published today, he has gone a step further, saying that the GOP must “purge the perverts from the Republican Party.”

In an article entitled “Why Potheads and Gays Hated Charlie Kirk,” Kincaid wrote that Kirk’s suspected killer, Tyler Robinson, supported LGBTQ+ rights and was dating a transgender woman, and added, “It appears that the parents did nothing about this terrible trend. Now Charlie Kirk is dead, and Robinson faces the death penalty.”

Kincaid then notes that then-former President Trump hosted an event for the Log Cabin Republicans in December 2022 in which he said, “We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard.”

Despite the fact that Trump is the most anti-LGBTQ+ president of all time, Kincaid wrote, “Hopefully, Trump will act to purge the perverts from the Republican Party and his administration. These perverts are behind the Charlie Kirk assassination and FBI Director Kash Patel says he is investigating the network behind the murder.”

There is no proof that Kirk’s suspected murderer acted specifically because of any pro-gay beliefs. In fact, the murderer’s bullets seemingly had anti-gay messages engraved into them.

Nevertheless, Kincaid then cites a book about the Russian KGB (Soviet Russia’s secret security agents) which states, “Homosexuality often is accompanied by personality disorders that make the victim potentially unstable and vulnerable to adroit manipulation.” Kincaid then claims, without evidence, that Robinson targeted Kirk as a representative of Christianity and conservatism.

“As we mourn the death of Charlie Kirk and remember his contributions, it is up to the Republican Party and the Trump Administration to remain true to his life’s work by cleaning out the perverts within,” Kincaid wrote.

He ends the column by claiming that President Barack Obama was once “a drug-addled gay prostitute … being abused by his communist mentor,” and adds, “There is homosexual cabal known as the Lavender Mafia running the Catholic hierarchy.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center has referred to Kincaid as ” an unrepentant propagandist for extremist right-wing causes” who “reserves a special loathing for gays and lesbians, who he believes are destroying the media, the military, the government, and the American way of life.”

His fixation on gay conservatives is evidenced as early as 2013 in which he wrote, “There is no such thing as a ‘gay conservative,’ unless the term ‘conservative’ has lost all meaning. But there is a homosexual movement that has its roots in Marxism and is characterized by anti-Americanism and hatred of Christian values.”

Weirdly, Kincaid is just the latest anti-LGBTQ+ pundit to blame homosexuality for Kirk’s death. In a recent email, Mat Staver, the founder and chairperson of Liberty Counsel, an anti-LGBTQ+ Christian Nationalist legal advocacy group, blamed Charlie Kirk’s murder on Obergefell v. Hodges, the 2015 Supreme Court decision that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.

While these claims might seem bizarre and laughable, the U.S. president has recently said that he would consider designating “trantifa” (that is, transgender anti-fascists) as a terrorist organization. Such calls for the LGBTQ+ movement to be designated as terrorists are both dangerous and possible.

In November 2023, Russia’s Supreme Court declared the international gay rights movement as an “extremist organization.” The declaration paved the way for the country’s increased persecution of LGBTQ+ activists throughout the country and abroad. Anti-LGBTQ+ conservatives in the U.S. have praised the country’s anti-LGBTQ+ crackdown.
