As part of Human Rights Campaign’s ongoing American Dreams Tour, US Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and HRC President Kelley Robinson last week hosted a town hall event in Somerville to talk about the urgent issues impacting Massachusetts, the country and the LGBTQ+ community.

The event was moderated by Chastity Bowick, activist and former executive director of Transgender Emergency Fund of Massachusetts.

“As the Trump administration, Republicans in Congress and the Supreme Court have taken steps to dismantle freedoms of everyone in America, especially the LGBTQ+community, Rep. Pressley and Robinson took questions and offered thoughts on how to fight back to defend these rights and work together to build a better future.

“The American Dreams Tour is a nationwide initiative to spotlight LGBTQ+ resilience, resistance and joy at a time of rising political attacks and cultural erasure. The tour coincides with the launch of HRC’s “One Million Voices for Equality”— a nationwide campaign to engage one million LGBTQ+ people and allies and put a renewed focus on one of the most powerful tools we have for changing hearts, minds and policies: our personal stories.”
