Gay actress Chloë Grace Moretz married model and photographer Kate Harrison in a private ceremony this last weekend. While its location and guest list have remained private, it featured custom-made wedding gowns and a very country Western reception theme.
The couple’s gowns were custom-made by designers Nicolas Ghesquière and Louis Vuitton. Harrison’s wedding gown was a white, hand-embroidered, sparkling, floral print bustier and floor-length skirt. Moretz’s pale blue “old Hollywood” gown included hand-sewn beads, shining elbow-length gloves, a trim swirling around the body of the dress, and a veil that extends into a long train as well.

“The thing I’m the most excited for – other than being married – is that first look moment,” Harrison told Vogue magazine in a video interview with her and Moretz detailing their wedding preparations, adding that the couple chose to stay separate and not show each other their gowns before the wedding. “Having no idea of what we look like in our dresses, it’s going to be so special. This dress just kind of makes you feel ready. This design is perfect. I’m ready!”
The couple had their engagement rings custom-designed by Elizabeth Potts of Moon Stone, a popular vintage and antique jewelry site. The rings featured Victorian diamonds placed into ornate golden bands. Moretz said she wanted the rings to become future family heirlooms, and Harrison said she was “blown away” when she saw the final rings.

Moretz also shared that her all-white reception outfit includes a cowboy hat, a cropped long-sleeve top that wraps into a combination fringed skirt, dress pants underneath, and silvery high heels. She said she loves how the outfit shows off a tattoo running down the side of her torso. Harrison’s all-white reception outfit was an elegant, white, spaghetti strap gown with slacks underneath.
“A big part of the wedding is sort of sharing things that Kate and I love with everyone who is going to be there,” Moretz said. Their wedding reception included fishing, horseback riding, line dancing, and even some poker, in a true Western theme.
“The biggest part of our relationship is our friendship,” Moretz told Vogue. “You really are who you keep around you and influences you to such a degree…. I think what I’m most looking forward to about getting married is just being together. We’ve been together almost seven years, and making this promise to each other in a new way and exchanging these vows and just looking forward to [staying] every day, choosing each other.”
While Moretz publicly came out in November 2024, she had long been considered as being in the “glass closet,” and had repeatedly posted images of herself with Harrison on social media since their relationship began in 2018.
She has reportedly been in a relationship with Harrison since 2018 and has not been shy about posting photos of the pair on social media.
